Mond. Students will read Ch. 19 and discuss how the cattle industry became an increasingly important part of the Texan economy. Students will complete Ch. Review Questions 1 thru 7 on page 499.

Tue. Students will read Ch. 20 and discuss how the lives of African Americans and roles of women all changed dramatically. Students will complete Ch. 20 Review Questions 2 through 7 on page 523

Wed. Students will read Ch. 21 and discuss how the discovery of large oil deposits in Texas greatly affected the economy of Texas. Students will complete Ch. 21 Review Questions 2 through 9 on page 553.

Thur. Students will read Ch. 22 and discuss the role Texans played in the Mexican Revolution and World War I. Students will complete Ch. 22 Review questions 2 through 9 on page 577.

Fri. Students will read Ch. 23 and discuss how the Great Depression and Dust Bowl hurt the economy and forced Texans to search for remedies. Students will complete Ch. 23 Review questions 2 through 7 on page 605

Tue. Students will read and discuss Ch. 10 Lesson 1 and explain what drove the colonists to battle in 1835. Students will complete Ch. 10 Lesson 1 Quiz.

Wed. Class will grade Ch. 10 Lesson 1 Quiz. Students will read and discuss Lesson 2 of Ch. 10 and be able to identify what military victories the Army of the People gained in late 1835. Students will complete Ch. 10 Lesson 2 Quiz.

Thu. ETCADA

Fri. Class will grade Ch. 10 Lesson 2 quiz. Students will read and discuss Lesson 3 of Ch. 10 and discuss how the views of Texans toward independence changed in early 1836. Students will complete Ch. 10 Lesson 3 Quiz.

Objectives: Students will know how and why people study geography and how to use globes and maps. They will also know how humans interact with the environment.

Mon. Students will be welcomed to Texas History Class and learn how the class is to be conducted for a better learning experience.

Tue. Students will read Ch. 1 lesson 1 and be able to identify the tools used to study history and draw conclusions about the effects of science and technology on society.

Wed. Students will read Ch. 1 lesson 2 and describe the physical features of places. They will describe how people have changed the environment and analyze why people move from one place to another.

Thu. Students will read Ch. 1 lesson 3 and be able to describe the role and branches of government. They will also analyze the basic principles reflected in the Texas Constitution.

Fri. Students will read Ch. 1 lesson 4 and be able to make inferences about the importance of a cultural identity to a society and draw conclusions about the effects of science and technology on society.
